Systems engineers are responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining information technology systems for a company. They do this by creating and enforcing rules for the various components of an organization's network.

Job Profile of a Systems Engineer

Lanteria HR is looking for a systems engineer who can establish, monitor, and troubleshoot the company's growing IT infrastructures. Ideal candidates must have the following skills:

  • Basic and digital literacy
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills

Systems Engineer: Responsibilities

Typical duties of a systems engineer generally include:

  • Assessing and resolving issues related to the design, development, and operation of systems
  • Determining company requirements and developing practical solutions that meet their goals
  • Working with other engineers to improve the systems' reliability
  • Completing various tasks related to the installation, configuration, test, and management of various systems and infrastructures for an organization

Systems Engineer: Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related discipline/s
  • Hands-on experience in various application stacks (i.e. Apache, Ruby, NGHINX, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge with virtualization viz. Virtual Box, VMware
  • Experience with automation software and monitoring systems
  • Excellent scripting skills
  • Certifications are a plus
